Albany Annual Summer Picnic

Sisters and Associates gathered at the Convent of Mercy in Albany on August 3rd for their annual summer picnic. The afternoon showers did not dampen spirits. It simply became an inside affair. There was delicious food prepared by Brenda Baker and the kitchen staff as well as games, laughter and wonderful conversation among friends!

A 50/50 raffle raised $230.00. Half was donated to the Mercy Fund for the Poor. Associate Laetitia Rhatigan held the lucky ticket. She generously donated her winnings to Circles of Mercy, a Mercy ministry that serves the poor in nearby Rensselaer, where Laetitia is Board Chair and Associate Richard Zazycki is Executive Director.

A good time was had by all! Catherine’s vision of service to the poor, hospitality and camaraderie is alive and well. Thanks to Richard, Sisters Peg Sullivan, Mary Ellen Owens, Pat Mannion and all who made the afternoon a grand success.
